Our UT Health Rehabilitation hospital is seeking an experienced an Athletic Trainer. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Sports Medicine department where you will be responsible for:
What You Will Be Doing:
  1. Prevent, evaluate, and treat athletic injuries using appropriate medical protocols.
  2. Perform athletic injury assessment and referral to appropriate healthcare provider.
  3. Perform treatment, rehabilitation, and documentation using evidence-based protocols.
  4. Participates in development and implementation of Sports Medicine programs.
  5. Provides patient care in orthopedic clinics working under physician supervision.
  6. Some travel required.
  7. This position will be placed with a Division II University.

Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training or other health related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Additional certifications preferred (CSCS,CES,PES,etc)
Experience:
  • Customer friendly
  • Must be in good health and able to physically complete a fitness assessment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Active listening, hearing and visual skills
  • Must use written and/or verbal sources of information
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills required
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically

  • Ability to embrace the client relationship to guide decisions and actions
  • Demonstrates good team work
Certification and Licensure:
  • Texas Athletic Trainer licensure
  • NATABOC certification required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be in good health and able to physically complete a fitness assessment.
